Relaxation to Relieve Stress

To avoid stress and its adverse effects, you can do the following relaxation techniques:

1. Breathing exercises

Taking a deep breath slowly can help relieve stress. Adjust the body position as comfortable as possible, then take a deep breath slowly. Breathe the air from the nose and remove it through the mouth. When breathing in, inflate the stomach and deflate when exhaling. Close your eyes so that you can focus more, while imagining that clean air is filling your lungs, and dirty air is coming out of your body through your lungs. Do it until you feel calm. Breathing exercises like this can relax you.

2. Meditation

You can sit on the floor with your legs folded. Close your eyes, calm down, and try to get all thoughts out of your mind. A study shows that meditation, which is carried out routinely for at least five minutes every day, can improve the electrical nerve conductivity of the brain. The effect, you are not susceptible to stress and can reduce anxiety.

3. Listen to music

Music has been known for thousands of years as an art form that has healing properties. Different types of music have different effects. Choose music that is soothing and makes you more energized. Research shows that music can relieve anxiety, improve mood, slow heart rate, and reduce blood pressure. You can also do other relaxation activities while listening to music.

4. Yoga

Research shows that the combination of breathing exercises and stretching muscles in yoga movements can make your mood better. Another positive effect of yoga is that it reduces anxiety, makes you feel calmer and happier.

Diseases that may be caused by stress

If not treated immediately, stress can cause various diseases. And if you already suffer from an illness, stress can make the condition worse. Here are some diseases that are thought to arise due to stress.

1. Headache

Stress can cause headaches in different locations. Can be in all parts of the head, can also only one side of the head, commonly called migraine. Stress is said to be the most frequent trigger of headaches.

2. Anxiety disorders and depression

A study shows, people who work too heavy are more at risk of depression. Presumably, anxiety disorders and depression are related to long-term stress.

3. Heart disease

Stressful personalities are more at risk of developing high blood pressure and heart problems. Severe emotional stress that occurs suddenly can also trigger a heart attack. When stressed, the heart beats faster and blood flow increases. Alternatively, stress can increase smoking and overeating habits, which can ultimately increase the risk of heart disease.

4. Premature aging

You look 9-17 years older? Stress makes it possible. This has been studied by experts, especially regarding the effects of aging associated with cell damage in the body.

5. Diabetes

For people with diabetes must be vigilant when experiencing stress. Prolonged stress can worsen the illness. There are at least two effects of stress on diabetes. First, stress can have a direct effect on people with type 2 diabetes, which triggers an increase in blood sugar levels. Second, stress tends to make diabetics pay no attention to the eating patterns that are consumed, which in turn also triggers the rise in blood sugar. Getting rid of stress doesn't have to be withdrawing from your daily life. Relaxing less than 15 minutes on a regular basis, is effective enough to help you feel calmer in dealing with the various problems you are facing. If accustomed to, over time this simple relaxation technique will become part of a healthy lifestyle that you apply everyday in your routine.
